Karen Winters began her study in dance at Dyan Mulvey Dance Academy where she traveled to Europe to compete. She traveled the Western N.Y. area performing for young audiences for "Sneakers". Her education includes receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Dance at State University of New York at Brockport. She is a wife and mother of three children. Karen is also a professor at Monroe Community College. We welcome her talent in teaching our beginning Tots program, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Irish, and Jazz.
Renee Sheelar grew up dancing at Dance Unlimited where she competed in competitions and performed in countless shows. She has choreographed various musicals and was the choreographer for the Singing Saints Show Choir earning top awards at competitions around the country. She graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Secondary Education and Spanish and earned her Master's Degree from SUNY Brockport in Liberal Studies. She is currently a High School Spanish teacher at Churchville-Chili High School.
Kiera Murray started her dance career at LaDanse Workshop over 15 years ago and later added to her dance experience in high school by participating in Nazareth Academy Dance. She has taken master classes from such distinct choreographers as Joe Puleo, Jeff Shade and Peter Chu, as well as a master classes from the Rochester Broadway Theater League. Kiera has competed in multiple local and national competitions and conventions in areas such as Rochester, NYC, Rhode Island and Orlando. Some of her successes are the title of Jr. Miss NYDO, 1st place in the Rochester Invitational Showcase, and earned a year-long scholarship in the senior division of the WCDE convention. She is now continuing her dance education at SUNY Brockport.

Nicole Angelo began her training at Marilyn Schneider’s School of Dance and later went on to study at Nazareth Academy Dance. As a young dancer, she received various scholarships and performed in many competitions and venues including WCDE, Tremaine, and Walt Disney World. After high school she became a dance major at Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona. At GCC Nicole studied flamenco, hip-hop, Latin dance, modern dance and world dance. As a core member of the GCC modern dance ensemble, Physical Graffiti, she was chosen to participate in several artists in residence workshops with choreographers such as Carly Conder, Pablo Cornejo, Mary Fiztgerald and Loretta Livingston. These residencies led her to perform throughout Arizona, at numerous events including the Phoenix Artists of Promise Gala in 2006. While in Arizona, she performed as an ensemble member of Flor y Piedra, a local Flamenco and Latin pop group. In 2007, Nicole performed at The ODC in
San Francisco, California. She continued her education at SUNY Brockport as a BFA in the dance major program, where she studied African, dance composition, Laban, modern and somatics. While at Brockport, Nicole performed, choreographed, and was a member of The Sankofa African Drum and Dance Ensemble. She was also chosen to represent Brockport at the regional ACDFA in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she and her cast were honored Gala performers. Nicole is very excited to be teaching ballet, hip-hop, jazz, modern and tots classes this year at LaDanse!
Colleen started Irish Dancing at age 10. She has had the honor of qualifying for and competing in five World Irish Dancing Championships and the “Olympics” of Irish Dancing in both team and solo competition. She is a consistent competitor and medalist at regional, national, and international competitions around the world. Her highest achievement occurred in 2011, when she was a recall medalist at the prestigious All Ireland Championships. One of the things she enjoys most about dancing is having the opportunity to meet and cultivate friendships with dancers in Australia, England, Germany, Ireland, and North America. She also enjoys the feeling of hard work paying off after hours of practice and dedication.
She looks forward to sharing her love of dancing and the Irish culture with the students at La Danse Workshop.
Jami has been involved with dance since the age of 7. She graduated with a BS in Dance from SUNY Brockport, December 2003. During her time at college, she performed with Rosalie Jones of Daystar (contemporary Dance of Native America) and for the Faculty Show choreographed by Santo Giglio and Eddie Murphy.
Her many accomplishments include numerous competition awards, studio Dancer of the Year, and choreography awards. She has performed with the Moscow Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet in The Nutcracker and with the Greece Ballet in numerous ballet performances. Jami is excited to begin her new adventure with LaDanse Workshop. She would like her students to have a fun and rewarding experience, while learning proper technique and dance vocabulary. She would also like to encourage her students to be the best dancers they can be.
Jennifer is a native of Rochester. She holds a Masters in dance from SUNY Brockport. She received her teaching certification from University of Georgia. Jennifer has been dancing and active in theater since early childhood. Some of her performance credits include Guys and Dolls, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and The Nutcracker. She has co-directed and choreographed Annie, Wizard of Oz and Cinderella. She is currently the dance director/ choreographer for The Downstairs Cabaret Theatre Summer Camp.
For 10 years Jennifer lived in Savannah, GA where she taught dance and theatre at a performing arts middle school. While living in Savannah she was actively involved in theatre and dance through performing, directing, teaching and choreographing. Her dancers have performed throughout Savannah and for Georgia’s AAHPERD conventions.
